During Our Spring Match Campaign

Thank you for your support and generosity over the years! We are proud to announce that two major donors have advanced $5,000 gifts apiece, and we hope these generous gifts can leverage a match of $10,000 from you, our community of donors. 

Can you help us meet that goal? 


Vermont CARES has a long history, more than 30 years, of human-focused work that our state can be proud of. From HIV prevention, to nation-leading care for people living with the virus, to innovative harm reduction and syringe exchange programming, you and your neighbors have, for decades, made possible healthier lives and embracing communities. 


Today, this work, and the thousands of Vermonters we serve, need your help. A recent change in the way we're funded has caused a tremendous hardship on our organization. We were told of this change and anticipated it the best we could with thoughtful financial planning but are finding this transition tougher than we’d imagined possible. We need your financial support, and we need it today, in order that your neighbors can continue to get the prevention, care, and advocacy we all need and deserve. 


We ask for help when we need it, and we do need your help now. 

 

Any gift, in any amount, would help us move through a tough spot, returning Vermont CARES to the agency we know you and Vermont as a whole has worked so hard to build. Our neighbors rely on free HIV testing, educational presentations in schools, sterile syringe exchanges and overdose prevention kits, and so many other life-saving services. A change in how we are financed need not be a reason we have to limit these amazing programs. 


If you were considering giving later this year, or haven’t given in a few years, this would be an important time to do so. Meeting this goal would help CARES honor our commitments, purchase harm reduction supplies and pay rental assistance for all those we serve, and open up work we’ve had to constrict since January.
