Help us raise $10,000. Why $10K? As a young company we are constantly growing, including sales. This year our goal is sell 10,000 cases of Blood x Sweat x Tears Vodka. We set our charitable goal to match our commercial goal, so we both grow together. Or, make us proud and have our charitable goal outstrip sales!
Dogs aren’t just man’s best friend; they are family. Blood x Sweat x Tears’ head distiller, Ben Green, elaborates: “Without my rescue pit bull, Mr. Pickles, Blood x Sweat x Tears wouldn’t exist. He stood by me as I stumbled through my self-education in craft distilling, offering unconditional love and encouragement as I went through dozens of (occasionally awful) iterations until finally getting it right. Now that we’re a bonafide brand – we reached 7,000 9L cases in our first year of sales – we are delighted to give back. This cause is near and dear to us and we are just getting started.”
Mr. Pickles was found running the streets in a bad neighborhood by a shopping mall in Bakersfield, CA. One of my friends picked him up and brought him to a local shelter; however, she felt uneasy leaving him there all alone, so she asked me if I wanted to adopt him. She said she could drive him up for my birthday. My other dog had just passed, so without hesitation I said, “Yes, I will rescue him.”
On my birthday she drove 12 hours to bring him to me. He is now five and a half. We celebrate his birthday every July 1st with a bbq'd rib eye steak, potatoes, and carrots. Ironically, he does not like to eat bones but loves our food. He enjoys things like salads, pickles, spinach, and -- as I recently found out – radishes.
He also loves car rides, going on walks, and playing with other dogs. He constantly tries to befriend cats but they are always mean to him and scare him.
He sleeps under the covers with me and has his own pillow. At work he sleeps all day under his blanket in his bed, located in my office. If he hears the door beep when a customer comes in, he absolutely must greet them.
He sometimes even goes out to dinner with me, or to a bar. He loves taking trips with me to Walmart, Target, Home Depot, and grocery shopping. He for sure is this man’s best friend!
Thank you for all that you do for homeless pets. Together, we will Save Them All.
Best Friends Animal Society is a leading national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America's shelters. In addition to running lifesaving programs in partnership with more than 2,500 animal welfare groups across the country, Best Friends has regional centers in New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Salt Lake City, and operates the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals. Founded in 1984, Best Friends is a pioneer in the no-kill movement and has helped reduce the number of animals killed in shelters nationwide from 17 million per year to about 800,000. That means there are still nearly 2,200 dogs and cats killed every day in shelters, just because they don’t have safe places to call home. We are determined to bring the country to no-kill by the year 2025. Working collaboratively with shelters, rescue groups, other organizations and you, we will end the killing and Save Them All. Donations raised over the $50,000 needed to cover adoption expenses may be used where needed most to help homeless pets.
