The Angelman Syndrome Foundation is an Official Charity of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. The Windy City Angels Team allows runners from beginner to the more advanced to participate in the marathon while raising funds and awareness of Angelman Syndrome. Angelman syndrome, initially presumed to be very rare, is now believed to be a genetic disorder affecting thousands more. Many, cases go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed as cerebral palsy, autism or other childhood disorders. For more information on this rare, neurogenetic disorder, visit the Angelman Syndrome Foundation website.
