2020 Polar Plunge
Presented by the Manitoba Law Enforcement Torch Run
As we're sure by now everyone is aware, the COVID-19 situation in Manitoba is constantly evolving. Based upon recent information and steps taken by some of our partners, Special Olympics Manitoba has now made the decision to suspend all community weekly training and competitions, as well as fundraising events through March 31, 2020.
This unfortunately means that we will have to postpone the Winnipeg Polar Plunge scheduled for this Saturday, March 14th. We will begin to work towards a new date as soon as possible.

THE POLAR PLUNGE IS A SERIES OF EVENTS WHERE PEOPLE JUMP
INTO A FREEZING WATER TO SUPPORT SPECIAL OLYMPICS MANITOBA
Special Olympics Manitoba is part of a global movement of
people creating a new world of inclusion and community. Through athletic,
health and leadership programs, SOMB aims to create a world that accepts and
welcomes every single person regardless of ability or disability. All funds
raised from Polar Plunge support over 1,800 athletes across the province who
participate in Special Olympics programs such as Young Athletes, Unified
Sports, Healthy Athletes and Athlete Leadership Programs.
The Polar Plunge is a part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run
movement. To further the mission of Special Olympics Manitoba, the Manitoba Law
Enforcement Torch Run carries the torch, representing the “Flame of Hope”, and
dedicates itself to the goals of continually increasing awareness and funds for
Special Olympics athletes across the province. Simply put, Polar Plunge would
not exist without the dedication, efforts and service of Manitoba Law
Enforcement.
Fundraising is required to participate in the Polar Plunge,
but the minimum $100 you raise accomplishes so much more than getting you to
jump into a frozen lake!
Incentives and prizes
By taking the Plunge and raising funds for Special Olympics Manitoba, Plungers will get access to commemorative Polar Plunge gear, pre-Plunge festivities, eligibility to win cool prizes, and so much more!
