Join the Virtual Polar Plunge Challenge!

Get ready to laugh, splash, and support Special Olympics PEI programs

The annual Polar Plunge with a twist.... ANYONE CAN TAKE THE VIRTUAL PLUNGE! Take an at-home 'plunge' and challenge others on social media to also take the virtual plunge too!  How far can we reach, how many people will accept the challenge? Who can be the most creative, have the most spirit, or make us 'feel' the coldest?!!   Prizes will be won, but most important, we hope everyone has some fun!

About the Polar Plunge

This isn’t just a plunge, it’s a jump for joy!! Proceeds from the LETR Polar Plunge directly benefit over 300 Special Olympics PEI athletes, so the coldest moment of your life will support the biggest moment of sport for individuals with intellectual disabilities across the island.

We do it to make a difference and support the health programming being provided for individuals with an intellectual disability across the island.

You can raise funds online and/or challenge others to also 'take the virtual plunge'. This is our online registration and fundraising portal. No donation is too small, we appreciate everyone's support in raising awareness and funds in support of Special Olympics PEI. Any donation of $20 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt.

The first 75 people who register and can raise $100 will receive a commemorative Polar Plunge toque.

For each $100 raised by a plunger a ballot will be entered for a chance to win:
                           > $500 Sobeys gift card
                           > $100 Tim Horton's gift card
                           > A Polar Plunge prize pack

Donate $25 and win! Every $25 donation will have their name entered to win a $100 Sobeys gift card

Have fun! Polar Plunge experts will award a $100 Sobeys or Tim Horton's gift card for the top plunge videos/photos that are:
                   > Most creative/best use of costume or props
                   > Best Special Olympics/Torch Run spirit
                   > Best 'Brrrr' (makes us cold) plunge

The Cause

Every contribution matters – whatever amount you can donate is greatly appreciated. If you can’t donate at this time, please consider contributing by registering and taking a virtual plunge. Adults with intellectual disabilities (SO athletes) are more than two times as likely to be obese compared to adults without intellectual disabilities. Funds raised are used to enhance Special Olympics PEI health programs, and enrich the lives of islanders with an intellectual disability.

Wishing everyone good health and safety.
