Direction 180 is a community-based methadone clinic located in the North End of Halifax. Based on a harm-reduction model, we offer treatment regardless of whether a client discontinues the use opioids or other drugs. This approach reduces the harmful consequences of drug use, including intravenous use, needle sharing, and criminal offences. We help clients improve their quality of life, living conditions, mental/psychological and physical health through providing methadone, counseling, advocacy, and medical monitoring. Established in 2001, Direction 180 is a program of the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre.
