Ride Don't Hide - Sunday 23 June, 2019

Ride Don’t Hide is a nationwide fundraising bike ride that brings mental health out into the open.

Join us for the eighth annual Ride Don’t Hide on June 23, 2019, in over 25 communities across Canada.

Ride Don’t Hide is the largest mental health bike ride in Canada with almost 10,000 riders and hundreds more family members, friends and volunteers across Canada taking part, raising more than $2 million each year for the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Get on your bike and join the movement. Ride. Don’t hide.

Join hundreds of riders as we ride, don't hide, through Woodstock & Oxford County.
This community event accommodates riders of all ages and abilities with 4 different rides to choose from:

1. Family Ride (8KM) - Riding on City of Woodstock Bicycle Routes (roads with Bicycle Route signs, Shared Bike Lanes, and Dedicated Bike Lanes), suitable for families with small children and people newly discovering the joy of cycling. This is a smooth ride, with very little change in elevation, and lots of assistance along the route to keep it safe and fun!
Estimated time to complete: 30 Minutes (15KM/hr)

2. Trail Ride (15KM) - Enjoy this scenic route along the Thames River. Riding through Roth Park and into Burgess Park, this is a great ride for those with wider tires with a mix of pavement, gravel, and dirt trails - plus some beautiful bridges. The ride drops in elevation closer to the river, and raises as riders head back onto city streets.
Estimated time to complete: 1 Hour (15KM/hr)

3. Intermediate Ride (28KM) - A great introduction to Road Cycling, and best suited for riders with a bike that can easily navigate the hills and valleys of rural Oxford County. Travelling from Woodstock to the Farm Show and back, experience the feeling of the open road and that one BIG hill, after which you will just roll on back to the starting area.
Estimated time to complete: 2 Hours (15KM/hr)

4. Advanced Ride (48KM) - This is the ride for riders who enjoy long, country rides, pedaling past corn and cows. Experience with Road Cycling is encouraged as there are many challenging hills and valleys to conquer on this route, which heads from Woodstock to just before Innerkip, past Embro, and back.
Estimated time to complete: 3 Hours (15KM/hr)

Routes are subject to change. Changes will be communicated on this site, through email, and on social media. Route maps will be provided closer to the Ride Date.

All riders are required to wear a CSA approved helmet. Ensure your bike is safe for the road and make sure you know the rules of the road. Remember: this is a ride, not a race.

Register Together!

Recovering from mental illness and battling stigma are both easier when we have our friends, family and colleagues supporting us. We encourage participants to register as families or teams to ensure that those who support us in our daily lives are with us as we ride to support mental health and reduce stigma.

Rider Kit Pick-Up & Donation Drop-Off

Saturday, June 22, 2019 - 10 AM - 4 PM at Canadian Mental Health Association Oxford (522 Peel Street, Woodstock, Ontario)

Can't make it that day? You can have a friend or teammate pick up your kits, and drop off your donations. You can also register, pick up your kit, and drop off donations, on Ride Day (please arrive early)

Riders are still required to check-in on Ride Day, and upon returning from the ride, for safety reasons.
