Skippers will form fundraising teams and enter their boat into the regatta. Sailors can then join boats as team members, and invite their family, friends and colleagues to join the team, or to sponsor them. Everyone can get involved in fundraising and teams can earn incentives for their fundraising. The race day is designed to be inclusive for all styles of boating, including specials spectator activities for powerboats. There will also be a separate race start for more serious sailors to collect VARC points.

The race events will be followed by an evening black tie gala where we will share stories of hope, resilience and celebration. There will be an awards ceremony for race participants where we present prizes, including the coveted Leukemia Cup, which will be awarded to the regatta team that raises the most money for blood cancer research and patient services. The gala will feature notable speakers, entertainment and a gourmet dinner, followed by a silent auction, and a raffle.

You can support the blood cancer community by making a secure online donation today! Your generous contribution is propelling vital blood cancer research and providing up to date information and resources in the hands of over 127,000 Canadians affected by a blood cancer.

This is the 10th Annual Leukemia Cup Regatta to be held at the Gimli Yacht Club on the shores of Lake Winnipeg. In our first three years we raised a few hundred dollars each year by donating the entry fees from the race to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.

In the past 10 years we are proud to say we've raised over $50,000 towards blood cancer research. This year we are looking to break this record. We hope you'll join us in raising funds to fight blood cancers. All money raised in Canada stays in Canada and is put towards patient support, education and research.
