Last year, I found out that I have heart disease. I couldn't believe it, didn't want to believe it... I thought: "how could this happen to a 30 year old?!?". (Denial isn't just a river in Egypt!) Since then, I have come to accept whatever it is I have and was able to find comfort in the information I have found on the Heart & Stroke Foundation website. I also thought of becoming a volunteer with the foundation but didn't think I had the time. After seeing the giant red bike outside my office window last fall, that was it! I wanted to organize a fundraiser with this Big Bike!

So after meeting with a nice lady from the Heart & Stroke Foundation, here I am! I was even asked to share my story with them, which I will eventually! I'm hoping to not just raise money but also raise awareness among young adults, as heart disease can strike anyone, old or young, trust me!

I am looking to recruit 28 volunteers that will help me raise a bit of money and ride the Big Bike with me!! Together, we can help to make a difference!!
