As you may know, I am working to become an officer in the United States Marine Corps, through ROTC at the University of Virginia. This decision was greatly influenced by the Marines I have had the privilege of meeting in my life, by the inspiring stories of Marines throughout history and by the legacy of the Marine Corps, which has proudly defended our nation since its inception.
In part, that is what inspired me to run the Marine Corps Marathon. But aside from the storied history of the Marines, I was motivated to undertake this challenge by my peers in ROTC who are also working hard to become Marine officers.
I have never run a marathon before, and the coming months of preparation are a challenge I look forward to. I hope you will consider supporting me in this, by sponsoring my race with a donation of any size. I hope to raise $2000 for the MARSOC Foundation, a non-profit (501c3) which provides support to Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) Marines, Sailors and their families.
As for donating:
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- you are sending a powerful message to the Marines, Sailors and families of MARSOC that their extraordinary service and sacrifice do not go unnoticed. Please share this link with your friends and family if they would like to support my campaign.
Thank you.
