I'm Sean, just a 14 year old kid trying to make a difference. This year will be my 8th year jumping as I jump to raise awareness for the Special Olympics. My friend Hannah inspired me to jump the first time after coming to class with all of her medals that she had won from her Special Olympics games. A month later, I saw a commercial for the Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics and decided I wanted to help Hannah and all the kids like her. I did it my first year and boy was it cold! Ice was in the pool and snow was on the ground. After jumping that first year I really wanted to find out more about Special Olypmics so I started asking questions. My mom told me about my Great Aunt Linda was an awesome athlete! She was in the Special Olympics for years!! She started them in the 70s and continued into the 90s. Now my cousin Jamie does Special Olypmics. So I jump for Hannah and Jamie and in memory of Linda.
