The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada (http://www.childrenswish.ca/about/) is a uniquely Canadian charity that helps children, families and communities by granting the most heartfelt wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. In doing so, they create moments of joy that ease the pain of a child and gives respite to the child’s family in that special wish of hope.

In the course of my work as a paediatric gastroenterologist, I have had the pleasure of meeting many patients who have benefited from the tremendous work of Children's Wish. The unique experiences that have been granted remain a fond topic of conversation at clinic visits months and years later. Fulfilling these wishes can truly have an incredible impact on children, their families & friends, health care team, and certainly the broader community.
