Hi Everyone!!

I cant believe it is May already.  May is SCARC WALKATHON Month!!  This year I am leading a team and we have the lofty goal of raising $12,000.  Overall, the SCARC Foundation will raise about $130,000!!  SCARC Guardianship Services will receive funds from the overall success of the event, but we will also get to keep for our programming the money our team raises.  This is a great opportunity for us to be able to give out clients more services, greater opportunities and also ensure that they do not miss out on any of the activities and adventures that they want to enjoy this coming year.  Maybe its new clothes, shoes and personal items. Maybe it is getting to go to a baseball game or to compete at Special Olympics.  Maybe its a new wheelchair or the opportunity to visit family who live a airplane ride away.  Maybe it is an educational program at the Community College or even the chance to see a music concert.  These are just some of the opportunities we are able to accomplish for the clients.  In addition, during this next year we are hoping to help more families obtain guardianship for their adult child in a stress-free and cost effective manner.  Our families generally fear the guardianship process and it is our job to eliminate their fears and guide them through the process so they feel empowered to become guardians for their children.
