As many of you know our son, Ryan, is a very special young man who struggles each day with autism with the help of a very special agency in Sussex County called SCARC. They provide
Ryan a place to go to "work" in the community everyday and during the Pandemic they have provided a program via Zoom so he can see his friends and participate virtually in activities, exercise, art and music. Ryan loves drawing and has become really good at it via zoom. He also loves the dance parties, bingo, exercise, virtual tours and art projects.
SCARC has given him a chance to participate in Special Olympic activities that we hope will be able to return soon He participated in the Summer Games virtually in Track.
SCARC is a very important agency to our family because they have embraced us and helped us navigate Ryan's journey from school into the adult community. SCARC Guardianship helped us through the legal system when we needed to apply to be Ryan's legal guardians when he turned 18. SCARC has provided the answers to many of our questions and concerns.
Please consider supporting Ryan's Racers at the Gordon Shelton Memorial Walk-A-Thon as Ryan walks to raise money for the programs he depends on everyday. As a family we are blessed to have such great family and friends. We know you will do what you can to help us in our efforts. GO RYAN'S RACERS!
