It's cold out there. And on February 25, I am going to be walking in support of women and children facing domestic violence. The organization I am walking with is called Airdrie P.O.W.E.R., a Day shelter dedicated to supporting women as they regain autonomy and begin the lengthy process of rebuilding their lives.

Airdrie P.O.W.E.R. recognizes that every individual who comes through their doors is unique, and so the goal is to meet them as they are. Not as a statistic, but as people. Not as failures, but as victims of violence who are often without the resources to safely leave.
