My Message

We are feeling inspired by our cousin (niece) with Angelman Syndrome, Grace. Grace brightens every family gathering by showing love, happiness, and humor. Her personality and character have us motivated to help advance awareness and treatment of AS for all individuals and families.

Angelman Syndrome is a genetic disorder characterized by developmental delay, speech impairment - no or minimal use of words, movement or balance disorder, laughter/smiling; apparent happy demeanor; easily excitable personality, often with hand flapping movements, and oftentimes, seizures.

"Angels" and their families face many challenges. Angelman syndrome research has accelerated educational and behavioral interventions which have been shown to be effective in the areas of communication, education, sleep disturbances and general behavior.
