For those of you who don’t know, Ira and I just got married a few weeks ago. While Sunday, September 14th 2014 will always be a date that we’ll remember, our story began long before then. In fact, our relationship really began having meaning shortly after our first few visits to The House. There, Rabbi Rafi Lipner influenced us like no one else has. Through his lectures, both formal and informal, he shed light on just how privileged we were to be members of a young, Jewish community. He inspired us to set our own goals, invest in ourselves, and most importantly, to be able to “walk out of the room with more than what we walked in with”.
From small, everyday things, to major life goals and direction, Rafi has inspired us in extremely positive ways. We regularly turn to him for guidance in building our fresh Jewish home and marriage. With Rafi’s impact and contributions to The House, so many young Jews are able to benefit in the same way.
By officiating our wedding, we were so honoured and grateful to have Rafi add such meaning and value to the most important day of our lives. He literally brought us to tears, and made everything come to light. His warmth and genuine love towards us will keep us forever grateful. Always questioning how we can give back to him and his organization, we finally have the perfect opportunity. By fundraising for The House, and asking all those who care about us to do the same, we can collectively make an even bigger impact on the young Jewish community in Toronto.
