The Ramah Special Needs programs have had a profound impact on families, campers and staff whom Ilana and I have met over many years. In numerous visits to Ramah Camps we have personally witnessed the transformation of camp as special needs campers have been integrated into the greater camp community. This integration is a gift to all campers and is a model for the wider community. These programs need nurturing and expanded support. Camp Ramah has a place for everyone and we must do a better job of developing resources to support programs for our special needs children, teens and young adults. Special Needs programs need to be more widely available and more fully funded. I hope my participation in the Ramah Israel Bike Ride will help increase awareness of Ramah Special Needs programs and raise significant funds to support the growth and development of these programs throughout all the Ramah Camps.
