This year, Laurine & I have decided to put our fundraising efforts towards the Branch Out Neurological Foundations (BONF) annual Bike Tour that will take place at Panorama resort on June 14- 16th (www.branchoutfoundation.com )
We have been involved with BONF for over 5 years and I continue to sit as a director on their Board. The focus for BONF continues to be looking for ways to accelerate tech solutions and non-pharmaceutical approaches to neurological disorders, including Parkinson’s Disease. Through their grant program, BONF funds top neuroscientists exploring alternative brain research.
Once again I will be riding the 100 km distance, while Laurine has signed up as a volunteer. The weekend turns into a great party, with the Ride, BBQ, dance & breakfast… meeting like-minded people who support neuro-research and want to make a difference! Neurological disease and Parkinson’s research as well as mental health in general, remain near and dear to us, as we are all touched by it in some form or another. In the absence of a cure…we believe that maintaining a healthy active lifestyle, exploring ways to “change the brain," supporting research and remaining hopeful, will lead to a brighter future for all.
