My Message

I am participating in the Victory Charity Ball to raise money for the Pinball Clemons Foundation Ambassador School Program.

After attending the 4th annual VCB as a guest and learning about The Pinball Clemons Ambassador School Program, listening to Pinball & the youth speak, (I especially remember the resilient Rachael) I was so inspired that I spoke to Michael & Diane that night & contacted the organizers the next day to see if & how I could become a Fighter.

I am a mom to 4 amazing young kids ages 11,10, 8 & 5yrs, who have all become involved & are behind me 110% in my training journey & fundraising. I am also a Real Estate Broker. I genuinely love helping people & giving back. I really enjoy being a Beaver Scout Leader as well and have volunteered for several years with Scouts Canada. This November I will be Trekking 100km across the Sahara Desert to raise funds & awareness for Domestic Violence through Interval House, Women's Shelter, with a group of my Real Estate Colleagues.
I am more artistic than athletic. I have never been athletic & am not highly coordinated when it comes to sports and because of that, I am prepared to train twice as hard to be the best Boxer I can be at the VCB. I am determined, a hard worker & have some of the best in my corner.  Since committing to this event, I made some huge healthy lifestyle changes to enable me to train to the best of my abilities, including loosing close to 50lbs, eliminating alcohol completely, learning to run & now learning to Box, a sport I had never personally tried before training for this event.
On May 23rd I will be fighting for youth who can't or shouldn't have to fight. I thank you for your kind & generous support for this truly important cause. It's going to be a great fight night, but the real winners that day will be the brilliant young people at the Pinball Clemons Ambassador School Program.

The Ambassador Program is an alternative school program designed to assist youth, who have dropped out of high school, to reengage with learning. The aim is to help them complete their Ontario Secondary School Diploma, gain valuable life skills, and successfully move into a post-secondary school environment.

The program currently services 15 full time youth, and 4-part time youth, with one Teacher and one Child and Youth Worker. Students work at their own pace on academic courses and participate in a life skills program which focuses on skill building for youth to live independently and successfully. These life skills include learning the basics of cooking and nutrition, physical health and wellness, financial literacy, and personal life management.

Students also engage in community support activities, volunteering, and a program called the “SpeakOut” where they travel to grade 7 and 8 classrooms across the city of Toronto and deliver a “stay in school” presentation based on their own life story and life choices.  Ambassador Students have spoken to nearly 30 000 grade 7-8 students over the past 10 years.  The core philosophy of the Ambassador Program is that every student can learn, achieve their goals, and realize their potential regardless of their socio-economic status, upbringing, or experiences.
