I am helping to change the future of cancer in 2020: Ten years ago, I went through treatment for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Today, I am TEN years cancer free. To celebrate, I am going to embark once again on a running challenge - running as a cancer survivor in the Nashville Rock & Roll Half Marathon race in April. Well, that was, due to COVID-19! Now I will do the Run across Canada starting on July 1st.
Other key reasons for doing this run and the fundraising are:
To fulfill my obligation for what I set out to do – even if it means I will now be doing way more than 21.2km.
To maintain my health (studies show that cancer survivors who exercise daily are significantly less likely to have a recurrence of the disease);
To thank you for your support (it has been overwhelming and humbling how supportive you’ve been);
Thank you for your wonderful support and celebrating with me and being part of this fantastic cause!!
Did you know:
That an estimated 138,000 people are affected by blood cancers in Canada?
That someone is diagnosed every 23 minutes?
And that every 72 minutes someone will die?
