My Message

Hello! Thanks so much for coming to my page! My name is Kirstin Alexandria Mercer. I currently reside in Orangeville, ON with my parents, Percival the furry sphynx cat, and my fianceé Keegan! I have never participated in this specific event but I have always wanted to. My mental and physical health decline from February 2020 to current has left me without work, but I am filling my time with a lot! I am writing and drawing again, even on days when I cant move from my bed because of pain. I am reading more than ever- and now I am slowly stretching and moving more. I am hoping, as such the times of COVID 19 is, to be planning a solo 3 km walk for myself on February.20th 2020. I am still figuring out how to show you my progress, but I am hoping to update on my writing outlets on Facebook! My page: cursed.ins.writings (should you want to keep updated.. )

Homelessness; something that I am very grateful for in my short 27 years is that I have not personally found myself in such a situation. However, I have chosen to see homelessness for what it is and try to find out as much as I could, from as early as age 5, when I went to Toronto,ON for the first time. Walking to the ampitheatre to see the Blue Jays play and we passed all these people who were in the streets. Huts, tents, garbage castles crafted to protect from even the wettest of weather with so little. As an only child, I always felt a huge part of my life was destined to help people. I didnt have siblings to learn from or teach, but heck, I could find out more about people who looked alone. Alone like me.

My goal is big but I know it is something I want to strive for. I am working hard to heal from home everyday and knowing I can work up to an outdoor solo walk to support this initiative...that is beyond words to me!
