I work in an ER and it makes for a busy/stressful work life. At the beginning of the Pandemic I fell into some pretty unhealthy habits quickly. A couple months in I decided I needed to make a change. I couldn't use my job or the pandemic as an excuse. I started to focus on my health so I could be the best version of me for my family. This led to the challenge of running an Ironman. I had never run a triatholon before. I had never run a marathon before. But I wanted to challenge myself. I wanted to show my son that with hardwork, anything is possible.
After finishing my Ironman I began the search for my next venture. I've decided to sign up to run the Chicago marathon. Running is not my stong suit, so it will challenge me. I also want to encourage my husband to run his first ever marathon and focus on his health. Most importantly, I want to support a friend who's son has Angelman Syndrome. I want to give back and do something for charity so that I can impact my community in a positive way, while making positive changes in myself. I'm nervous because I've never run a marathon outside of the Ironman. I haven't done a long run since. It's been months and I almost feel like I'm starting over. But, I'm excited for this challenge!
