My Message

It's cold out there. I'm going to do something about it . On February 26th I plan to dress appropriatly and wear out a decent pair of boots traversing the streets of Kingston. My hope and goal is to raise money for Lionhearts; a charity dear to my heart.  They care for the least, the lost, the last and the dead. They believe hope resurrects despair, food fills hunger and kindness mends broken lives. I plan to photo journal my walk way past the appointed time and even pray over our limestone streets. Thank you in advance for helping me and my team make this happen. It is just money people and I can name a thousand things more important. So go boldly into the darkness and be the light.

Bob has been one of my best friends and the first person to introduce myself to homelessness in our city. in 1999 he and some others began N.E.S.T and emergency overnight shelter that was in a church lovenasium. somewhere in my collection of kept items is the flip phone he purchased to take incoming calls. I keep the strangest things.

And when the Major gets to heaven he will be seated dead centre of the most holy choir rolling his eyes regularly when those with harmonicas and halitosis wish to join the band. He will welcome them joyfully and most likely give up his good seat. Then offer them endless breathe mints. He will introduce himself share his song sheet then wax on at length about Manchester United soccer and proper choir attire.

Regarding the Paddington you speak of KN the only items I wish to borrow from that man will be his grit, good attitude and arctic gloves he owns. He got them that year he thought he saw a polar bear cub in his backyard only later to find out it was your neighbors overfed cat Snowball. He spent the rest of the day trying to coax her home with cans of tuna and catnip.

James and myself have pledged to spend the entire evening outside walking aimlessly between coffee shops, open fires and warm sewer grates. I have met those who are the least, the last and the lost and know personally the depths of hopelessness. I have set a lofty goal because I sincerely believe that Lionhearts is committed to the dignity, sanctity and reparation of every human they are entrusted to care for. So with all of that, I hope you can see fit to be ridiculously generous. Thank you
