It is cold out there - Prince George will be getting down to -33 this winter. This is very cold for unhoused people. Fortunately, AWAC’s outreach vehicle checks regularly for people who need shelter. AWAC does an excellent job of providing supports to people at every level of the housing continuum. They recognize that homelessness, addictions and mental health are interwoven. AWAC is skilled at reaching out without judgement to individuals and providing supports.
My son, Luke, fit into these categories. He had mental health issues, addictions and was often homeless. He died of fentanyl poisoning. AWAC saves many lives and so this year, Luke’s League is committed to raising money to help AWAC save lives.
On February 24, we will be walking to save lives. Feel free to join us, or support us with donations, or form your own CNOY team!
