It's cold out there. And on February 24, I'm going to do something about it. Together with other people across America, I'll be walking and fundraising to support people and families experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness in my community.
Since moving to Bartlesville, Randy and I have seen the numerous homeless people in the area and we want to help. If you are familiar with our story of Clovis in the book I wrote, I Never Wanted a Dog, you may already be able to see why this is important to me. All those nights I spent trying to help this poor dog by giving her food, shelter, water and love, I was also wondering why it seemed so important to me at that time. Now I know.
I went through that experience so that my eyes would be opened to the people that are living just as Clovis lived-- Out in the cold, alone, hungry and hurting, trusting no one. How can I not help them?
We have been volunteering at the new homeless shelter in town, B the Light, and are trying to make a lasting difference in people's lives, and I'm hoping you will join us!
You can join our team by walking with us, donating to our cause, or both! Please, give generously by clicking the "Donate Now" button above.
Thank you so much and God bless you for caring!
