It's cold out there. And on February 24, I'm going to do something about it. Together with other people across America, I'll be walking and fundraising to support people and families experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness in my community.
When I was a baby, my mother and I lived in a shelter for abused women, and while I may not remember that time, I'm grateful to the people who ran the shelter for helping us. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I also know how serious the issue of homelessness is. According to The Trevor Project, 28% of LGBTQ youth report that they’ve experienced homelessness/housing instability before and those who did had two to four times the odds of reporting depression, anxiety, self harm, suicide attempts/considerations.
Help me make a difference and drop those statistics by supporting Community Cares in Carlisle PA and Community Cares Family Shelter in Shippensburg PA. Please, give generously by clicking the "Donate Now" button above. Thank you and live long and prosper!
