I am participating in the Ride for Refuge in support of Sanctuary Youth Centre located in downtown Victoria. The centre provides a safe supportive environment for street entrenched youth and youth at risk. Operating five days a week the drop-in program gives youth access to showers, groceries, meals, mentorship and activities. Each month over 170 youth access the Sanctuary's space in the basement of Church of Our Lord.

Every Fall since 2014 friends of Sanctuary have participated in a bike-athon/walkathon. The event raises awareness of issues facing street youth and brings in funds for the centre to function. 

I have participated in the "Ride" for the past two years. One comment that I would like to share from a rider I met last year is:

"It was so much more than riding a bicycle. It was my chance to raise awareness to an important isssue in our city"

I would appreciate it greatly if you could support the Ride financially.
