At Sherwood Care, we provide quality care to one hundred long term residents. While a few of our residents are more independent, the vast majority of our residents are elderly and rely on staff to meet all of their care needs. "The Grand Parade" is our largest fundraising activity each year. The money that we raise goes directly to improving day to day quality of life for our residents. As our facility itself is aging, we face some challenges that newer buildings don't need to cope with. As a few examples, funds raised in recent years have allowed us to install air conditioning units throughout the facility and replace window coverings in our large dining room to keep our residents cooler on hot summer days. We have also used funds to purchase specialized "air chairs" that allow immobile residents to be up and out of their rooms even though they can no longer tolerate sitting up in a regular wheelchair.
