Once again Judy and I are walking to raise funds for two countries that desperately need our help. We are hoping to walk 150 km from Aug. 1 until Oct. 5.

Both Haiti and South Sudan are caught in the trauma of civil war. On top of malaria, floods and famine, South Sudan is being flooded with refugees from Sudan in the north which is suffering a devastating civil war. We are raising funds for the Doro Medical Clinic in South Sudan so that it will have the medicine and supplies it needs to address these needs.

Haiti is also ravaged by civil war and incredible inflation and food shortages. This has jeopardized the safety of the children in l’Arche Orphanage. They had to move to rental premises in the city for their safety and purchase a van to transport them to school. This year, instead of a special development project we are simply sending money to help meet their operational costs.
