Dear Friends,
I’m reaching out to those of you who have given generously in the past, as well as some of you who are new to my yearly ask & to Kinbrace, the refugee organization I support.
In a year that has seen more bloodshed, hatred, and divisiveness globally and in North America than any time in recent memory, it’s tempting to succumb to despair, but then I think about individuals & groups who counter with the strength of kindness and generosity, like Kinbrace.
This is my 3rd anniversary as captain of a team (Team Unity) raising funds for this most awesome refugee welcome society in East Vancouver: KINBRACE – Refugee Housing & Support. https://kinbrace.ca/ through the annual nation-wide Ride for Refuge.
On October 5th I will be cycling 10 km to recognize the 43.4 million refugees worldwide* -- 2.5 million more than of the entire population of Canada (!)
In addition to housing refugee claimants (including many families with small children) Kinbrace guides them through the stressful and confusing asylum process.
Please give if you can, and if you are otherwise supporting refugees, bless you!
Many thanks,
