Food and shelter should not be a privilege - but a right for every single person. Having a roof over my head, a warm bed to sleep in, and food to eat is something I have been incredibly blessed with all of my life. Sadly, far too many people in our community and all across Canada are experiencing homelessness, hunger and hurt every day, and the need has never been greater!
So on February 22nd, I am once again walking in the Coldest Night of the Year, a fabulous family-friendly walk to raise funds for local charities all across Canada serving people experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness. I am fundraising for Kitchener’s Ray of Hope, an amazing charity where Jesus Christ is at the centre of everything they do. The funds raised at the Ray of Hope through the Coldest Night of the Year Event will provide, a safe and supportive space where people experiencing poverty and homelessness can find essential support 365 days a year. This includes hot meals, shower & laundry facilities, food hampers, chaplaincy, healthcare, and a community where everyone is treated with respect and dignity and given the tools they need to build a more hopeful future.
I am also walking once again in memory of my dear friend Cheryl’s 28-year-old daughter Maggie, who passed away Oct 7th, 2022. Maggie had a very difficult life, experiencing time in jail, several rehabs, homelessness, hunger and brokenness.
I would be truly grateful if you would join me in my efforts by supporting my walk with a personal donation by clicking on the “Donate Now” button above.
Many Heartfelt Thanks & God Bless!
