It's cold out there. And this February, I’m doing something about it.
As a Prevention of Homelessness Case Management Worker with the Sooke Shelter Society, I have the privilege of helping individuals and families in our community who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their homes. Our mission is to provide not just shelter, but the resources and support people need to rebuild their lives with dignity.
Through our housing case management services, we work directly with individuals and families, helping them access safe, stable housing and meet their basic needs. We understand the challenges people face when transitioning from homelessness to housing, and we’re here to help with everything from housing setup to connecting people with health services, food security, and community resources.
A recent success story from our team shows just how impactful these efforts can be. After a long struggle with homelessness, an individual in our care was successfully moved into their new home with the support from Sooke Shelter Society. From arranging furniture to ensuring they had access to food and medical resources, we were able to make sure they had everything they needed.
This February, we’re joining thousands of Canadians to walk and fundraise to support people like this in our community. The funds we raise will directly help provide safe housing, access to essential services and basic needs, and continued support to those in need.
Please consider donating generously by clicking the "Donate Now" button above. Your contribution will help Sooke Shelter Society continue our work, ensuring that every person in Sooke has a safe place to call home.
Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.
