Homelessness isn't new - but it seems like it is more visible every year.
With rising housing costs, and inflation, the number of people experiencing homelessness is rising. The sad thing is that the longer someone remains unhoused, the greater the risk is that they will remain chronically unhoused.
Newmarket Inn from the Cold is doing something about that. They offer a range of programs, from a low-barrier shelter that welcomes everyone, through various wrap-around supports for people who are at risk of losing their homes. They also offer job skills training, access to counselling, casework support, and a fabulous transitional housing program.
This February, Billy and I will walk to support these programs. The need has never been greater. Please give if you can.
