It could be anyone of us…
The stories I have heard from those in our community who are struggling, hungry, hurting, perhaps even homeless - are heartbreaking. Job losses, illness, accidents, single family parents, a child with special needs, fleeing from abuse - trying to make ends meet with two or three minimum wage paying jobs…metal health issues, addictions…only a few of the reasons, for their circumstances.
In addition to the current work we do, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Matthew Parish, will be hosting a Coldest Night of the Year event to raise money for our neighbours in need. Together with other volunteers, I am fundraising for the Coldest Night of the Year Walk taking place on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
Our goal is to raise $20,000, which will enable us to assist our neighbours suffering from the winter cold, and extreme summer heat. Winter gear, utilities support, rent support, mattresses and cooling fans, are just some of the ways we can provide hope and comfort through this initiative.
Your generous support can make a difference.
Coming together with faith and hope, we just need the equivalent of:
“Five Loaves and Two Fish."
Thank you for your consideration.
May God abundantly bless you for your kindness.
