I'm reaching out to you today as part of the Coldest Night of the Year campaign, supporting the fundraising effortssupporting and vital work of Food for Life.

This year, I'm not just a volunteer; I'm also someone who has experienced firsthand the challenges that many in our community face. As a mechanical engineer with over a decade of experience in engineering, I never imagined I'd find myself in a position where I couldn't make ends meet. Due to economic downturn and shifts in the job market I've struggled to secure employment despite upgrading my skills for the digital transformation era. This situation has left me unable to pay rent and am relying on social assistance. I also applied for early retirement, however the pension doesn't cover housing or necessities.

My story is not unique. Many in our community are facing similar hardships, often silently. That's why this fundraising effort and the work of Food for Life is so crucial. They provide not just food, but hope and dignity to those who need it. By supporting my fundraising efforts for the Coldest Night of the Year, you're not just helping me; you're supporting everyone in our and neighbouring communities who is struggling with housing problems.
