It's cold out there. And this February, I'm going to do something about it. Together with thousands of Canadians across the country, I'll be walking and fundraising to support people and families experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness in my community.

Durham Youth Services partners with youth ages 16-24 to achieve and maintain lasting solutions to their housing crisis. They aim to pursue their vision of ending youth homelessness in Durham Region.

Next week this time we will be finished the walk and all warmed up. Because of your efforts some students will have the opportunity to be in a warm safe home as well. Thank you for your efforts and know that the fundraising portal will be open until March 31st. Looking forward to next Saturday.

Happy Thursday, I feel like today could be used to get ready for the walk on Feb 22nd. Just so you know there is a bit of a process if the weather is bad. More than likely the walk will still happen. If it seems that it may be uncomfortable than we may tweak the walk. If it is deemed unsafe we may need to called it off (this is very unlikely with the 1000 of walks that have happened this has only happened a few times). If there is any switching of the planned walk I will inform you by this email

It is about two weeks until the coldest night. Thank you for your comment we are about 50% there it can be hard, if I can help at all please reach out at mark.bouwmeester34@gmail.com or (905)668-2319. There are great resources on the Coldest Night page as well. If you are collecting money in person then please use the pledge form at https://cnoy.org/tools/pledge. Is someone is donating by Cheque please have them make the Cheque out to Blue Sea or Coldest Night to make sure they their tax receipt

Good morning, I wanted to say sorry an our sending the challenge and not offering tips, I just saw that e ail this morning. To start off, you are doing great, getting the word out. If helpful I can send you what I put out on my contract list. It is too long for this e mail. If you can send me yours. If helpful I can come into school and talk about where the raised money is going. If I get your e mail I can send an information package that I typically use for presentations. Let me know.

I am challenging you to the get 5 campaign The get5 campaign is the better, cooler, stress-free way to fundraise. Rather than setting a fundraising goal, set a goal of getting 5 donors! Why five donors? Because getting 5 donors makes you a fundraising hero. You're putting yourself out there in a big way and making your walk really count. You can't predict what your donors will give, but this will raise awareness about youth homeless and help Durham Youth Service.

Yes, I am Julia's sister. =) I've never fundraised before, so if you have advice I am definitely happy to hear it. I'm going to try to get other students at DC involved, but I am honestly not very confident in my ability to recruit people. I'll talk to people this week in person and see what interest there is and if I can not come up with a plan I may just join your team.. Thank you and I hope you have a great week

It is blue Monday. Maybe it is for the red white and blue of the Bill’s. For me the days are getting longer and we are about a month away from the Coldest Night. We are doing great, you can see it on line (some of our walkers are raising money off line). Stay warm and let me know if I can help.
