A little walk for a big problem!
On February 22, I'm walking in the Coldest Night of the Year - a winter fundraiser for people in my community who need my support.
Every day on my way to work I walk by people living on the street - specifically people sleeping in doorways on cold concrete with cardboard for a mattress and a tarp for a blanket.
I have to say that these people will be better off with our help, but the need continues as there are almost 3,000 homeless people in Ottawa.
On February 22, I'm going to continue doing something to help - together with thousands of Canadians across the country, I'll be walking and fundraising to support people and families experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness in my community.
I'm walking 5 km for maybe an hour at most - a little walk, really - but it's a big deal for the people we're supporting. Would you support my walk with a personal donation? I will walk an extra 1/2 km for each $100 donation - last year I walked an extra 16 km thanks to generous donors.
