On February 22nd The Mission is holding their "Coldest Night of the Yesr" (CNOY) walk all over Canada.  Carol and I are part of the "Downtown Ottawa Mission"  fundraising group walking 5 km around the downtown core.

I volunteer in the kitchen  once weekly . The numbers of people that come in for a warm home cooked meal are growing and growing. They appreciate being inside in a warm environment sharing a meal  among friends and aquaintances. 

The Mission is much more than a kitchen and a shelter . They have counselling for various  addictions , psychological  issues, educational and training opportunities and make an effort to get people into lifestyle changes for their benefit. They provide medical and dental services and  palliative care . They have food trucks that bring meals to people all over the city where needed.

I know that everyone has their favourite causes to donate to and please don't feel like you need to give to anything to my particular fund raiser.
