It's that time of year again....the walk to raise funds for the homeless in Richmond, my home town.  We know homelessness numbers are increasing, food banks across Canada are declaring states of emergency and people with full time jobs are struggling.  This year, our team,  South Arm United and Friends will be walking in the words of Lauren Kirkey, under a collective banner of "faith communities all doing what they can to address the injustices of poverty and homelessness - to walk united."

I walk this year knowing personal stories.  I walk in memory of our Mom, Anne Leaney, who taught me what I know about social justice and the importance of fighting for it for us ALL to all be safe, valued and loved citizens of the world.
