It’s cold out there. Imagine what it would be like if you had to sleep outside tonight. What if you had to sleep outside? How would you stay warm enough to sleep? How would you stay dry enough to protect your toes from frostbite?
This is the reality faced by hundreds of people in our city. As the days and nights get colder, Ve’ahavta’s Mobile Response to Homelessness (MJRH) outreach van clients often walk long distances for warmth, a nourishing meal, and a friendly smile. Each night, Ve’ahavta’s two outreach vans visit several locations in downtown Toronto and Scarborough to deliver essential supplies, including nutritious meals, clothing, hygiene kits, and harm reduction kits to people facing homelessness, poverty, and hardship.
These upcoming few months are the absolute hardest months of the year. I need your help to provide life-saving supplies for the MJRH outreach program and spread some warmth this winter.
On February 22nd, I will be supporting Ve’ahavta’s MJRH outreach van clients as I participate in Coldest Night of the Year. Your support can mean the difference between someone being wet and freezing and being warm and dry. Between someone keeping their extremities intact and losing fingers and toes. Your support can mean the difference between life and death.
This is a great way to help those who are the most vulnerable in our society. Let’s make a difference together.
