My word of the year for 2025 is “CRAZY”!

At 69, it’s definitely time to break out of the container and shake off a few boundaries. When I read the Love Sweat Gears Tour challenge of a 7,000kms in 70 days cycling/camping adventure across Canada I knew the sun, moon and stars just aligned. Most of you know that I am a bit of a cycling enthusiast, plus I like to tackle a challenge, couple this with the opportunity to support Michael House, I knew I had to start training.

Michael House is an awesome charity that provides shelter and support to pregnant and parenting women and their children in distress. Their Residential, Supportive Housing, Aftercare, and Drop-In programs allow mothers to overcome barriers and difficult circumstances for themselves and their children. The goal is to raise $25,000; the stretch goal is $30,000 (dare we dream a CRAZY number like $50K?). I’m personally going to give enough to cover the expenses and admin fees so your donations will go directly to Michael House. BTW they are pumped about this adventure.

My wife has referred to me as a Hard Ass and I’m sure after 7,000kms in 70 days I’ll have developed that both literally and figuratively. I’m thinking the first week or two will be fun…but… then there will be another eight weeks of pushing the pedals. That is when this page showing your support will be an inspiration to me to finish well…and…come in first, lol!
