It's cold out there. And this February, I'm going to do something about it. When I needed help, I was lucky enough to be surrounded with kind friends and family to support me, making sure I didn’t fall through the cracks. Unfortunately, many people are not as fortunate as I am. I have been looking for an impactful way to give back and show my support to the members of my community in need, when a co worker told me about an event they have been participating in for years, the Coldest Night of the Year.

Together with thousands of Canadians across the country, I'll be walking and fundraising to support people and families experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness in my community. In Nanaimo alone, there is an estimated 800 people who are unsheltered, so every little bit helps.
