It's cold out there. I have signed up again, to make a difference in the lives of our "tribe" of traumatized, hungry, unhoused people that I volunteer weekly to help feed a daily meal, hand out clothing donations, find employment and build relationships with, through SLA (Street Level Advocacy).
This is the fourth year that SLA has been chosen as Charity of Choice by CNOY - Coldest Night Of The Year. People across Canada will be walking to support their charity of choice. My choice is Street Level Advocacy, Peterborough.
SLA works hand-in-hand with a new start up called Rising Above Peterborough, who have a live-in treatment program for it’s residents. Their first woman’s home opened this past summer.
Rising Above has unique success by ministering inner healing for the trauma that is always a part of each homeless person. I'm pleased to participate and see the results of our efforts first hand on the street.
Will you join us - Team “Carty Cakewalk” - with your donation to help us reach our goal of $2,000.00?
Thanks in advance!
Jim
