It's cold out there!
Chances are, that as you read this email you are sitting in a warm home and you will spend tonight in a warm bed and you have food in your cupboards. Consider yourself deeply blessed!
There are many people in our city that are either spending tonight out in the cold or are a family facing the risk of homelessness, or wondering how they will feed their kids. I am so proud to be a part of City Reach Care Society, which is actively working to support people in our community that are struggling with homelessness, food insecurity or are at risk of becoming unhoused.
To give you an idea of what we do, in 2023 City Reach Care Society:
- Provided 47,000 fresh food hampers
- Served 14,000 hot meals
- Referred 433 people to housing/recovery
- offered 195 counselling sessions
- provided 1,000 back to school backpacks to kids in need
- served 50 schools in the region to provide support to families in need
BUT WE CAN'T DO THIS WITHOUT YOU!!
City Reach relies on people like you that have compassion and see the need and support us through volunteering or donation.
Coldest Night of the Year is one of our major fundraisers and we hope you will join us to serve our community.
Please consider donating today! We will be walking on Feb. 22, 2025 and we need your help to meet our fundraising goal!
