It's cold out there. And this February, I'm going to do something about it. Together with thousands of Canadians across the country, I'll be walking and fundraising to support people and families experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness in my community. Please, give generously by clicking the "Donate Now" button above. Thanks!
I walk for SISTERING HOMELESS SHELTER & DROP IN FOR WOMEN. This facility is the only 24 hour drop in. They don't have enough beds to shelter everyone and the drop-in is packed with people sleeping on the floor and sitting up against the wall. Since Covid, many of the churches and agencies that used to provide meals to the homeless, many of them never resumed or managed to resume only one day a week. The need for resources surpasses the availability. People assume that these services exist everywhere for homelessness And they do, but since Covid, they have been drastically reduced, Hence the increasing number of homeless on the streets.
SISTERING provides a meal at a storefront window, 2x/day And although men are not allowed in the shelter, they can get food at that window also. The shelter also provides access to legal and medical services through volunteer professionals. There are wait times to access the services also, As the number of people needing help is immense. The shelter also provides Clothing and other basic essential needs free of charge.
These are financially challenging times for all of us, but would you kindly consider any donation amount. ($5-$10 or what you can manage) IT ALL ADDS UP if and it goes without saying it is a worthy cause.
Thanks kindly for considering my request! CAROL 🙏👍🥰
