Each year, my family would walk for this cause. This year I've decided that we would try something a little different. I call it the Hurry Curry with Love. When it's cold, I tend to walk a whole lot faster! I will be making potato curry and coconut rice and giving them away for anyone who would help with a little donation (or not) to my team Angels United Georgetown. Together with thousands of Canadians across the country, we will be fundraising to support those who are experiencing hurt, hunger and homelesness in my community (Links2Care, Georgetown Breadbasket).

3 women have inspired me in this cause. My grandma, who taught me to make this curry. It's called the Nyonya curry, which is quite different from the Indian curry. I remember spending my childhood days watching her and many other women cook massive pots of these curries for the local community. A friend with a big heart, who contributes her time and energy in making a monthly community dinner possible here in Georgetown; and lastly my daughter who is such a huge fan of curry that she made me teach her to cook for her entire class!

Fellow friends, or anyone would like a curry rice (plain or coconut); please let me know (it's 12 oz per serving each in kraft bowl); and you can pick them up this Sunday (Feb 16th) or I can deliver. Please don't give me money, just directly click on the DONATE button and give however much you can afford or want.
p/s: No meat, no seafood, just potatoes. Other ingredients include lemongrass, lime leaves, curry leaves, cinnamon, star anise, cloves, shallots, ginger, garlic, dried red chillies, cumin and fennel seeds.

Thank you once again for everyone's warmth, kindness and support.
