As many of you know, I have volunteered weekly at the Fort York Food Bank on College Street for the last two years. Since then, the monthly visitor rate has increased steadily and dramatically. Our small food bank now feeds 5,000 visitors a month.
Increases in food prices and cost of living in our city are pushing many people to the margins, making them reliant on food banks like Fort York.
This Saturday, the Fort York Food Bank will join a diverse group of organizations focused on alleviating hunger and homelessness in Toronto at the Coldest Night of the Year Fundraising Walk.
Though I'm not joining the walk, I support the cause through fundraising!
If you, like me, love food and don't want anyone in our city to go hungry, please give generously by clicking the "Donate Now" button above.
And if this isn't a cause close to your heart, or the timing isn't good for donating-- no worries!
