You may know that I’m the Executive Director of Youth in Transition here in Fredericton. For over thirty years, we’ve operated Chrysalis House—a safe, affordable, transitional living home for at-risk and homeless youth aged 16 to 19.
I can say with confidence that 99% of the youth we’ve served have experienced domestic violence—either in their homes of origin or in their relationships. That’s why we partner closely with Liberty Lane, whose incredible programming on healthy relationships is a vital part of our Life Skills Program at Chrysalis House.
It was only natural for us to come together to raise critical funds for our respective programs—again, in partnership. While it’s my job to show up and raise money, my heart’s deepest desire is to ensure that youth in our community have the opportunity to break the cycle of violence and become the best version of themselves. This mission means a lot to me as I too experienced this as a child - likely the biggest reason why I have been leading this organization for the past six years!
I’m proud that Youth in Transition and Liberty Lane have brought this national fundraising initiative—Ride for Refuge 2025—to Fredericton. Together, we’re raising awareness for our shared vision of ending domestic violence and securing the operational funds needed to keep our services accessible to those who need them most.
I humbly ask for your support and donation toward this cause. Every contribution helps us build a safer, more hopeful future for our youth right here in Fredericton.
Love,
Misty
