WHAT MOVES YOU? is the big question that we ask each other on ride day!

Here are a few things that move me:

- Kindness.

- Welcome.

- The courage, bravery, and resilience of people finding their way through impossible circumstances while holding onto the hope of reaching safety and refuge.

- People extending welcome, through literal open arms, support with navigating the system, processing paperwork, connecting with resources, building friendships, practicing English, or sponsoring organizations doing this good work.

- Lives being changed.

You're probably here, reading this, because these things move you, too!

I'm humbled to ride for my 11th year with The Young and the Rest of Us. We are fundraising for one of my favourite charities - Compass Refugee Centre - who brings hope, safety and freedom to people seeking asylum in Canada and settling into their new lives in Waterloo Region.
